Toshiaki and his older brother Masahiro are the driving force behind freestyle in Japan. Their FScom Freestyle Team travels around Japan putting on shows and demos, exposing kids to the joys of freestyle. They also help organize and run the national All Japanese Freestyle Championships each year. Although they are both mentors to many skaters, Toshiaki’s mentor is his own brother Masahiro, who he has great respect for.

The Fujii brothers got started skateboarding in the 1980s because of its popularity. In fact, it was so popular that a teacher at school started teaching them freestyle at school. Toshiaki took that to heart, when he’s not skating himself he’s teaching young skaters coming up through the ranks. Several of those young freestylers are going to compete at this years World Round-Up.

A graduate from SBI University, Toshiaki works for a small insurance company in their sales division. In his spare time he loves taking care of his 2 1/2 year old daughter Fuuka and, if he is lucky, finds time to practice freestyle 2 to 3 hours on the weekend. He will miss being away from his family while at the World Round-Up, but is looking forward to meeting old friends and sharing freestyle sessions with them.
