Yuta Miyatake

I’m originally from Tokyo, Japan but I moved to Canada in 2010 when I was 18 years old. I now live in Calgary, Alberta where I attend the University of Calgary taking film studies. As much as I like making movies my real love is creating hip-hop music on my computer whenever I can. Recently I made the soundtrack for my good friend Takashi Suzuki’s new skate video called “My Truth”. I started skating street style with my friends when I was in the 8th grade, but after watching an influential Rodney Mullen video I turned my interests to freestyle. Then in the 10th grade I met pro freestyle skateboarder Satoshi Ohasi and hung out with him and his SOS Freestyle Team. I love Canada but I am the only freestyle skater in Calgary, so coming to the World Round-Up is like a big family reunion where I get to skate with all of my buddies.
