We had one goal in mind when creating the World Freestyle Round-Up: to create a fun, energy-packed annual event that would highlight flatland freestyle skateboarding. For those who attended the contest the last six years, we hope that you agree that we are on the right track. The Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair, and the sponsors have been very happy with the Round-Up and are supporting it again in 2018. That’s right, we are once again Rounding-Up the top Pro and Amateur freestyle skateboarders from around the world to compete at the World Freestyle Round-Up Skateboard Championships. And just as last year, the Rodeo is putting up $10,000 in Prize Money, along with prizes from sponsors for the amateur skaters, and trophies to be awarded to the winners.
The four day event will be held at the Cloverdale Rodeo & Country Fair, just 25 miles east of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, from May 18 to 21, 2017. Over 80,000 people attended the annual Rodeo and Fair last year, making this an ideal high-profile location for this contest. The World Freestyle Round-Up will once again take place inside the Cloverdale Curling Rink located on the Cloverdale Fair Grounds, which will be set up with bleachers in an arena setting featuring a flawless concrete floor that is ideal for flatland freestyle skateboarding.
Each day there will be several contests using a Battle Format, making it more interesting for the riders and audience. There will be several heats (approximately 20 minutes each) with an announcer and DJ spinning tunes to keep the crowd and skaters pumped. In addition, there will be Prize Money and Trophies to be won in four speciality events also using the Battle Format. See CONTEST RULES for full details.
NOTE: All freestyle skaters that wish to compete in THE WORLD FREESTYLE ROUND-UP must first fill out a registration form.
